NARS Eyeliner Stylo in Carpates

Firstly I received this eyeliner pen in the Andy Warhol Edie set, as much as I would feel naked without wearing eyeliner everyday £19.00 is a bit steep for me! I never realised it was possible to have such a turbulent relationship with an eyeliner pen until I met this one. I absolutely love these things and they are a staple part of my make up, my usual pen is Soap and Glory Super Cat which is AMAZING but when I got this set for Christmas this was definitely what I was most excited about trying. The NARS eyeliner stylo has a very, very fine tip which makes it easy to get a nice thin line (and a perfect pointy flick if that's your style) but I prefer my line a bit thicker towards the outer corner of the eye and this is where I hit a problem. When I drew over the existing line to thicken it up the original black kind of peeled off and you were left with a very patchy line which was quite hard to fill in and make look evenly black. Although when you do get the perfect coverage it is VERY black which I love and the description of this product says its lasting time is up to 24 hours...hell yeah it is!!!!! You try getting this off at the end of the day!! It takes a lot of scrubbing and is still the intense black it was when you first applied it. I've been using this for nearly a week now and I think I might have turned a corner and softened the tip a bit because I'm finding it applies much better as I don't need to go over it so much and ruin my lovely black line. I wouldn't repurchase this as £19.00 is too pricey for me but it's nice to have as a little treat to try out!

My Beautiful New Zara Shoes!

Shoes, Zara (£39.99 Via Ebay)

I first saw these shoes in Zara a little while before Christmas, fell in love, decided I needed to save for the festive season, left the shop a little bit broken hearted and then stalked them on the website torturing myself until they went out of stock. All that was left was my fond memories of the ones that got away until I stumbled across a pair in my size on Ebay last week that were a reasonable price, hallelujah!!

I'm a complete sucker for anything studded, so I love the detail on the back of these. Although I think leopard print can sometimes lean towards being a bit Kat Slater the leopard toe adds a nice touch. The heel is nice and thick so you can actually walk in them and while they aren't massively high they give you a good bit of height. All I need now is an excuse to wear these bad boys out!

What has been your best Ebay find?!

Outfit of the Night

Shirt Topshop
Necklace ♥ ASOS
Skirt ♥ Topshop
Bag ASOS
Watch ♥ Marc by Marc Jacobs
Shoes ♥ Primark

I was super excited to wear this outfit for my night out last night and like an idiot didn't think of trying it on until 20 minutes before I was getting picked up and it was then I decided that the skirt didn't sit right. A couple of stitches in the waistband and a lot of moaning later I had to embrace the skirt and gogogo! I picked up this sequin wonder in the Topshop sale just before Christmas after searching for the perfect sequin skirt for what seemed like all my life, I paid £20 for it down from £45, it would have been rude not too!! I ordered this shirt last week along with a Lipstick (Review here) and a cute midi ring, which seems to have disappeared off the website but was the J version of this, it's such a lovely fit and I can't wait to style it up a few other ways. Last but not least my ASOS clutch is also a new purchase, I love the colour, it fits a lot in (even flats for when your feet can take no more) and it has a phone pouch and a zip pocket that I LOVE, I seem very easy to please but I've not got another clutch bag with this and I hate my money and cards in my bag willy nilly and hard to find but now everything has its place!

I've had to tear myself away from reading Confessions of a Fashionista to post this, it's such a good book and so so funny, I would definitely recommend a read! I hope your Sunday has been as lazy and make up free as mine!

Topshop Lipstick in Macaroon

My local Topshop only has a few nail varnishes in terms of their make up range and Macaroon has been in and out of my online basket more times than than a beauty enthusiast checks the MAC website before the launch of a limited edition collection! It was only when I finally found a decent swatch of it that I decided it was time to just buy it already!! (Of course I also had to get a couple of other things to make it worth the postage...ahem) This lipstick is a lovely pink colour and is described as a velvet finish but I found it a bit more glossier than I thought it would be, I like my lipsticks quite matte but it was a lovely moisturising formula and the glossiness eased off after about half an hour or so. I applied this at about half ten in the morning and when I next checked a few hours later there was still a dull pink tint to my lips (This was after eating and drinking) but by the time I got home at 5pm I had no lipstick on at all, I didn't touch it up throughout the day though. This has been my first Topshop lipstick and definitely won't be my last!!

I'm very smug and organized today, I was at Primark before it even opened this morning, I've never seen it so tidy. I had everything I needed to do today done by 10 so now I'm having a leisurely day of tanning and painting nails before getting very drunk and having a boogie tonight! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Midweek Wish List #2

12345

1. It's what we've all been waiting for and the wait is nearly over girls!! 2 more sleeps until this is available online from Debenhams and 3 until it's in stores. It's Benefits latest offering for us and this brightening lip and cheek tint looks amazing!

2. I am rubbish at painting my nails, absolutely rubbish, my boyfriend has even gone as far as saying it looks like a four year old has done it and it's become a long standing joke amongst my friends. My argument is that the bits on your skin will wash off but my messy nails prayers have been answered with this Nails inc corrector pen.

3. I've got a kind of work do coming up soon and I need to look ready to party yet employable and that is where this dress comes in! It's a respectable length and cut but would look really nice dressed up, I would definitely need to hunt out my spanx though!

4. This horrible weather has made me realise that I have no appropriate footwear at all and my feet are fed up of being cold and wet.

5. I've seen a few swatches of this in Grandma and it looks really nice but I can't find it anywhere boohoo!! As soon as I can I will be purchasing because I really want to try a Lip Tar!

On a completely unrelated note, has anyone been watching that Catfish programme on MTV?! I am addicted!!!

Au Revoir Joliebox, Hello Birchbox!!

So Joliebox has been re-branded and is officially Birchbox! I was really excited when I got the email about this because I saw a Gossip Girl themed box ages ago and if Birchbox loves Gossip Girl then I love Birchbox.

I love the new packaging, the box is plain but still cute with the bright pink accents and instead of the black drawstring bag there's a pink one which I much prefer to all that shredded paper that gets EVERYWHERE!! You also still get a magazine which I think is loads better than the Joliebox one, the content and products featured are a lot more relateable to the things I want to use and buy.

Now onto the contents, this is what was in my box:

♥ Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment
♥ KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry
♥ WEI Jujube Age Control Serem
♥ Wild Romantic Body Butter
♥ I Colonialli Deep Body Massage Cream
♥ Teapigs Peppermint Tea

To be completely honest I was a bit disappointed with the contents, I expected them to relaunch with a bang and maybe include a well known brand but discovering new brands is never a bad thing! I'm most excited about trying the blow dry spray and the lip treatment but hope that next months box is a bit more exciting!

(A Very Snowy) OOTD!

Hat ♥ Primark
Scarf ♥ New Look
Top ♥ Topshop
Skirt ♥ Primark
Coat ♥ Topshop
Watch ♥ Marc Jacobs
Boots ♥ Topshop

So this is what I'm wearing to tackle this horrible weather! I really hate the snow, it's alright when you don't have to get anywhere but travelling is a complete mission! I felt like I'd taken my life in my own hands when I was walking home from work earlier which is only ten minutes down the road and I'm not even attempting to get in my car. My main objectives this weekend are to keep warm and keep upright, so we'll see how that goes!

I hope that everyone is having a nice, safe weekend and are as snug as a bug in a rug as my lovely Lunar is!

My Primark Spring/Summer 13 Picks

I don't know about you but I rarely come out of Primark empty handed and I don't think this upcoming season is going to be any different! I'm trying not to get too excited though because I find Primark very hit and miss sometimes, I can see a picture of something and fall in love with it but when I actually see it in store it's not as amazing as I thought it would be (China print dress, I'm looking at you!) From what I've seen the accessories look AMAZING and I'm definitely going to be stocking up on some chunky necklaces. I'm loving all the separates as well, I can see myself wearing the stripey jumper, with the grey marl pencil skirt and a big necklace. Now I've mentally planned a couple of outfits and cleared some space for the anchor flats and tortoise shell sunglasses my local Primark better get a wriggle on and get all this on the shelves although I can hardly imagine getting my legs out or not wearing a millions layers right now!!

January Glossybox 2013

There's no denying that I'm still loving my monthly box of surprises, it's like a little present that I forget I pay for. For anyone not familiar with the concept of Glossybox it's a little pink box packed with usually 5 (sometimes something extra) beauty samples for you to try out, it's as simple as that! Cough up, wait for the postie and then pamper, could a beauty lover ask for a better service?! Fair enough sometimes you get a rubbish box but there's always something you can use or someone you know that you could give it too.

This months theme was detox and this is what I got in my box:

Elemis Fresh Skin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face wash - I'm a sucker for anything that promises a glow! I tried this out last night when my face was quite dry and it did improve it quite a bit so I will definitely use it again.

Jason Lips Bee Healthier - I've got one of these already and I can't remember if it was from Glossybox or Joliebox so I'm not going to get all grrr about getting the same product twice! It's basically a lip balm made from all natural ingredients including beeswax (lips bee healthier, get it?!) you can't have too many lip balms in winter, it does the trick and smells like After Eights.

Duck Island Limited Body Lotion - Body lotion is never going to go unused and I like the little bottle that it comes in.

Monu Aromatic Mask - I had another Monu product in a Glossybox a few months ago and loved it so I have high hopes for this and I love a heating face mask because it feels like it's doing something!

Premae Skincare Balance Rescue Face Tonique - This is the least exciting thing in the box for me, I don't use anything like this but it's all about trying new things so I'll give it a go!

Glossybox Sleep Mask - I've never used one of these in my life because I can sleep anywhere whether light or dark (Usually a Saturday afternoon when the football is on) but I do think this is a really nice extra to the box and if it's good enough for Blair Waldorf and Holly Golightly then it's good enough for me!

Overall not the worst Glossybox to start the year with!

Midweek Wish List #1

1-2-3-4

1. Thank you Glossy Box for introducing me to this little beauty! I love the smell, I love the texture, I love how soft it makes my skin, I think it's safe to say I bloody love it and I've about ran out so hurry up pay day!

2. I don't actually own any Essie nail varnishes yet and I pick Leading Lady up and put it back down every time I go in Boots (which is a lot) and then I get a £2 off Essie voucher from them through the post! It's either fate or they're just fed up of me loitering around the Essie stand and thought I needed a little push to purchase.

3. It's true what they say, when you can't have something you really, really, want it! Which is completely the case with Candy Yum Yum, when I saw it available in the By Request collection I thought it was nice but could live without it but then when I went back to order and it was gone I decided I needed it to carry on living so you can imagine my delight when I read that it's going to be a permanent member of the MAC family in February, come to me!!

4. My lovely boyfriend has arranged a beautiful Valentines weekend and I can't imagine a more occasion appropriate dress and who doesn't love a quirky print?!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

I seem to have jumped on the Liz Earle bandwagon a couple of years too late but after reading so many good reviews about this product and seeing how highly recommended it was I came to the conclusion that there was nothing more I needed in my life! My skin hates winter, it gets very dry and VERY dull, is wanting skin that's not grey too much to ask?! Liz Earle thinks not! I've only been using this for about 3 weeks now and I don't think I could go back to the dark days when I wasn't.

My skin wasn't in the best shape after Christmas after eating too much bad (but so so good) food and drinking way too early. Literally after the first use of this my skin was the softest thing in the world and after a week it had never been so clear. I usually only use a wipe to take all my make up off at the end of the day and I couldn't believe the amount of grime that was on the muslin cloth, my poor clogged up skin! I put my hands up and admit that I have the laziest attitude towards skincare, especially at night when I just need my bed but this is so easy to do, just pump it out, whack it on and polish it off after running the muslin under hand hot water, I don't think it could be easier to have happy skin! The only thing I'm not a massive fan of is the smell, it reminds me of Vicks and having a cold but that's just a minor detail.

There was also a 30ml spray bottle of Instant Boost Skin Tonic that is a perfect handbag size and after a spray left me feeling so nice and refreshed and definitely gave my skin a bit of a glow. I will definitely be repurchasing both of these, it's love!

11 January 2013

It's About Prime!

I got a sample of this in the How To Look The Best At Everything gift set at Christmas and was so excited to try out the holy grail of primers! I had high hopes for this little tube of miracles and once I'd put it on and didn't look like Katy Perry AFTER she'd been photoshopped I was ready to resign it to the depths of my dressing table drawer. I only persevered because my other primer had run out and braving Boots during sale time?! I don't think so, people are animals when it comes to half price Soap and Glory sets and I was not getting caught up in that. All I can say is thank god that I did because I have grown to love the Porefessional! It makes my skin so smooth and look really even and matte. I haven't got the most noticeable pores in the world anyway so I can't really pass comment on that (alright, show off!) It's been applying smoothly over foundation and I do think it's affecting the staying power of my make-up especially around my eyes that tend to get a bit creasy as the day goes on and my nose which hasn't been getting as shiny.

I got this cute gift set from Feel Unique for £18.80 which includes a full size 22ml Porefessional and a little face emulsion (that I haven't tried yet) and taking into account that the full size primer alone is usually £23.50 this is a really good deal, so if you were going to try it out now is the time!

New Year, New Blog!

Hello! My name is Jade, I'm 21 years old and I live in a practically non existent village in Leicestershire.

I love all things beauty and fashion so what better way to channel my obsession than through a blog and I also need something to fill that Gossip Girl shaped void in my life (R.I.P xoxo)

I think this will mostly be a beauty based blog as 5 days a week I'm wearing an all black uniform and weekends are onesie time however, it's very rare that I haven't got my face on and my worst nightmare is naked nails!

I'm starting this blog with a camera that has been the victim of a few too many drunken nights out and a painfully slow laptop so let's see where this goes, it's all fun isn't it?!
